Share Savings
A share savings account establishes your membership in the credit union and makes you an owner. Once you have become a member by establishing a share savings account, you are entitled to use all services at Kansas Blue Cross Blue Shield Credit Union. A minimum balance of $5.00 is required at all times in the share savings account. You can open up to two additional savings accounts for any special savings purpose (insurance, taxes, vacation, education, etc.).
Share Draft/Checking
Tired of paying high fees for your checking account? Kansas Blue Cross Blue Shield Credit Union offers a free personal checking account to all members. This free checking account has no minimum balance requirements, no per check charge, and no monthly service charge. Duplicate checks create a carbon copy for your records and with CU@Home, you can view and print cleared checks online. An average daily balance of $100 or more earns dividends monthly.
The Credit Union's checking account offers many free convenient features like:
- Virtual Branch - our 24 hour online banking service
- BillPay Payment Center - our free online bill payer service allows you to pay virtually anyone, anywhere

Club Accounts
Christmas Club
Save for the holidays year-round with this account. No minimum balance required. The Christmas Club runs from November to October each year. Christmas club balances can be transferred to your share savings account or withdrawn when you are ready to start your holiday shopping.
Googolplex Savings Club for Kids
The Kansas Blue Cross Blue Shield Credit Union is revamping our kids' club program. The Johnny Appleseed Junior Ecology Club is being replaced with the Googolplex Savings Club. If you think the name sounds familiar, you're right. Currently there is a link to the Googolplex Web site on the home page. Now, all of the cool information on the site will transform into your very own savings club at the credit union!
The Googolplex Web site has cool stuff for all ages. Each level has fun money games, facts, or activities exclusively for your age. It is a great tool for kids to learn fiscal responsibility while playing games.
The information is divided into three different levels:
- The 5-Spot Club House (elementary)
- A.J.’s Mall (middle school)
- C-Note University (high school)
Share Certificates
Share certificates combine higher dividend rates with the safety and security of federal insurance. Certificate terms range from 6 to 60 months with a penalty for early withdrawals. Open a certificate with as little as a $500 minimum deposit.

We offer Traditional and Roth IRAs as well as Coverdell ESA accounts, with a variety of investment options available. You can make a one-time deposit or save a little each month or payday.
